The Modern Body Check privacy policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

Who we are

The Modern Body Check is a free posture self-check run by Christine Martin, ABN [ABN], under the Fixing the Modern Body brand ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle the personal information you give us through the check and the emails that follow it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect only what you type into the sign-up form under the check: your first name (to address our emails to you), your email address (to send you your results email, the follow-up emails and your four-week reminder) and your consent (a record that you asked to receive these emails).

Everything else you enter or work out in the check stays on your device and is never sent to us. That includes your photo, your height and weight, your habit ratings, where you feel it, the posture patterns you tick and all of your measurements. We never see them. Because your symptoms and measurements never leave your device, we don't collect any health information about you. We also don't collect payment details or your location.

How we use it

We use your name and email address to send you an email explaining what your results mean, because you asked for it; to send you a short series of follow-up emails on everyday habits that shape posture, and a reminder to measure again after four weeks; and to read and answer your replies, if you write back to us. We don't use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law requires or allows it.

Your photo and results

Your photo never leaves your device. The check works on it inside your browser, and we never upload, receive or store it. When you close the page, it's gone. The same goes for your results: the numbers the check works out are shown on your screen only. If you want to keep them, take a screenshot, which stays on your device too.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run the check and our emails: Systeme.io, which hosts the check's web page, stores your name and email address and sends our emails (its data is stored in the European Union), and Zoho Mail, which receives any reply you send to hello@fixingthemodernbody.com (stored in Australia). Because Systeme.io stores information outside Australia, we choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to Australian law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never share your information with your employer, insurer or anyone else for their own marketing.

Emails from us

We email you only if you tick the consent box on the sign-up form. That one tick covers your results email, the short follow-up series and the four-week reminder. We don't send anything else without asking first. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@fixingthemodernbody.com and we'll take you off the list within 5 working days.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep your information while you're on our email list, and for up to 2 years after you last open one of our emails or use the check. After that we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time. Your information is held in our Systeme.io account, which is protected by a strong password and two-step login. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@fixingthemodernbody.com and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you before we act on the request.

Not medical advice

The Modern Body Check is an educational self-check. It doesn't diagnose, treat or replace an assessment by a registered health practitioner. Our emails share general information about posture and everyday habits, not advice about your own health.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint about how we've handled your information, email hello@fixingthemodernbody.com. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the check changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we'll email you before it takes effect.
